The overlap of time and history has given us many rich traditions. Our ancestors believed that everything in nature is ensouled with energy and spirit. The Sun, the Moon, the waters, the mountains, the rocks, the forests, the animals all were considered to possess spirit and consciousness. At our Witches Wheel of the Year Spring Equinox Sabbat rites we honor our spiritual ancestors, invoke their wisdom, appreciate with great gratitude the seasonal changes bringing warming days and nights, the nourishing gifts of Mother Earth, the Green Man and the magick of the Green World. At this season, in Earth's Northern Hemisphere, the time of the Vernal Equinox, when Winter’s chill will soon be only a memory, a time of cosmic balance of day and night, the focus of life shifts from Winter, now past, to Spring’s new beginnings and tides of rebirth.
